Description:	Knox County marriage book G, 1866-1871. This book has tan canvas type material on the exterior that has various with colored paper on the front and back interior cover. The book has green tape along the spine. There are seven blank pages before you come to the index pages. There are sixty-nine index pages that contain four columns of information. There are sixty-nine index pages. The columns consist of the grooms name, the word to, brides name and the pages of the entry. Some of the ink has faded in color, the pages have deteriorating edges. Each page of the marriage book consists of two entries of marriage. Each application for the marriage consists of page number, date of application, names of the applicants, and the name of the County Clerk. These pages also contain the marriage returns. The returns give the actual date of marriage, the spouse’s names and the person’s name that performed the ceremony. There are five hundred seventy-one pages of marriage records. There eleven blank pages at the end of the book. There are a total of six hundred fifty-eight pages in the book.
