Joseph Chambers, guardian of Mary Chambers and Nancy Jane Chambers, petition to sell real estate 1842

Description:	The file contains the documents and petition of Joseph Chambers, the guardian of Mary and Nancy Jane Chambers, heirs of Samuel F. Chambers, to sell real estate in Edwardsport. In the petition written by Joseph Chambers to John Harrison, Probate Judge, Joseph Chambers described the partnership Samuel F. Chambers had entered into with John Chambers, Nathan Robertson, and Alexander Chambers. The partnership had been transfered to Nathan and Alexander Robertson. The partnership wanted to purchase the real estate of Samuel Chambers, deceased, to erect a grain mill and carry on the lumber business in Edwardsport, Indiana. Joseph Chambers as the guardian of Samuel Chambers heirs, Mary and Nancy Jane Chambers, petitioned the court to have the land appraised and asked permission to sell the tracts of land. The tracts of land were described as follows: Real Estate out lots on the plat of Edwardsport letter A, number one (1) two (2), three (3), four (4), five (5), six (6), seven (7), eight (8), nine (9), ten (10), eleven (11), and fourty-one (41). Also North East quarter of the South West Quarter of Section 31 in Township 5 North of Range Seven West containing 71 acres and the West half of the South fractional section 6 in the Township 4 North Range 5 West containing 59 acres.
