Garhardt Dusterberg petition for naturalization 1840

Description:	The file contains the petition of Garhardt [Gerhardt] Dusterberg [Duesterberg] to become a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1840. The petition for Garhardt [Gerhardt] Dusterberg[Duesterber] states he was born in Osnabruck, Hanover, on the 11th of November 1811 and is now 29 years of age and that he was born a member of the German nation, and owed allegiance to the King of Germany. That he migrated from Rayman to the United States and arrived at the port of New York on or about the 17th day of October A.D. 1834. It is his intention to settle in Indiana. He is now residing in the County of Knox and it is his intention to become a citizen of the United States and renounces all allegiance to any foreign Prince. Sworn on October 3, 1840 before N. Harper, Deputy Clerk, for W.R. McCord, Clerk.
