Elisabeth Catherine Gooley (or Cooley) Bryant was born in 1838 in Indiana and married Sylvester Bryant on June 5, 1864. Sylvester Bryant was a member of Company F of the 150th Indiana Infantry Regiment and he served from February 17, 1865 until August 5, 1865. In this letter Elisabeth tells her husband how lonely she is and the fact that she misses him. She has moved back in with her parents and is slowly collecting farm animals and bringing them back to the house that she is now sharing with them. The letter is full of information from home and the general events that are happening as a part of day to day life. |
