This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Man calling to ask when the first call on the Here Apartment fire at Shadeland came in. 2) Need another police car at the entrance to Ayrway on 38th street. 3) 18-20 people are still unaccounted for at Here Apartment fire on Shadeland. 4) Chief Morris wont be with you today. Guess he got too old to take it. He had a rough night. 5) Truck 29 return to station. 6) Car 2 wanting to know what the number is on the hose tender and the hose. Dispatch says 6 on the hose tender and 12 on the hose. 7) Dispatcher calling Doug Bollinger at home to ask him to go to the Here Apartments on Shadeland instead of coming downtown. 8) Man calling to inquire whether there were any fires around Virginia or Lexington that morning. 9) Man calling about a list of injured people at the Here Apartments at Shadeland.
