This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Here Apartments fire. 3rd alarm at 3900 Shadeland. 2) 3038 English, man needs oxygen. 3) 2154 North Illinois, car fire in the parking lot. Fire asks for police car. 4) Man calling to see if the fire department went to 3400 Fall Creek, accident, mans throat slit around 3 AM. Fire has no record of attending. 5) Police calling with info on a victim at 13th and Delaware at 1:30 AM, name Blish, white male 62. 6) 3038 English, white male 35, Robert Tate, D.O.A., heart attack. Used 1 tank. Left with police officer Burnett. No release signed. 7) 1959 Chevy, 4 door sedan, owner unknown, in parking lot at 2154 North Illinois, fire in front seat. Loss $200. Used one tank. 8) Sherman Drive and Michigan, bad personal injury accident. 9) Man calling to inquire about 3900 Shadeland fire injuries. 10) Fire calls Wa Dictabelt |
