Maurice (Morris) Franklin Griffin (1825-1884), son of Patrick and Margaret McCarthy Griffin. Morris Griffin went to California in 1849 in the Gold Rush. His brother Patrick Griffin followed him in 1852 and the two developed a successful trading post business. Patrick returned to Indiana in 1865, but Morris remained in California for the remainder of his life. |
