Frank Scribner Griffin and Maurice Griffin, 1901

Description: First cousins Frank Scribner Griffin (1864-1937) and Maurice Griffin (1873-1951). Frank's father, Daniel F. Griffin, and Maurice's father, Patrick Griffin, were brothers. Daniel F. Griffin died of typhoid fever in 1865 soon after returning home from the Civil War. His son Frank grew up to work for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, married, but had no children. Patrick Griffin settled in Corydon, Indiana, became a merchant, and had seven children with his wife Helen Porter Griffin. Maurice, the second oldest child, entered the mercantile business with his father and siblings and established the family firm Maurice Griffin & Co.
