Wallace, George, Jr. vs. Michael Thorn 1810

Description: The file contains one Bond Document of Michael Thorn to George Wallace, Jr. related to the suit Wallace brought against Thorn in 1810. The Bond Document stated that Thorn bound himself to George Wallace, Jr. on February 18, 1810 in the sum of $51.92 1/2 with the penal sum of $103.85. It empowered Gen. W. Johnston or any attorney to appear for him and acknowledge judgment; and he released all errors that may happen in obtaining judgment. The document was witnessed by P. [Parmenas] Beckes and signed Michael Thorn. On the bottom of the document was notation of the following: amount note Feb 22, 1809 40.75; interest one year 2.44 1/2; amount of book a/c 8.73; Total 51.92 1/2. According to the Minute Book of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, page 235, March Term 1810 on the Debt on Judgment Bond. The Plaintiff appeared by Gen. Johnston and the Defendant by J. Johnson. The Defendant confessed Judgment for the sum of $103.85 to be discharged by Payment of $51.92 1/2. It was ordered that the Plaintiff recover against the Defendant the debt, interest from the 18th of February 1810 and court costs and charges related to the suit.
