Wallace, George Jr. vs Homer Johnston

Description: This file contains the documents related to the suit George Wallace Jr. brought against Homer Johnson for failure to pay a judgement bond. The complaint written by the plaintiffs attorney General Washington Johnston was filed in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas during the March term 1810. The complaint stated that on January 15, 1810, the defendant signed a judgement bond of $116.50 with a penal sum of $233. The defendant was to pay the bond with interest by February 1, 1810. The bond was not paid and Wallace was asking for payment. According to the Minute Book of Common Pleas, 1807-1810, the defendant appeared by his attorney John Johnson and confessed judgement for the sum of $233 to be discharged by payment of $116.50. The plaintiff was also to recover interest, costs and charges.
