The file contains the petition of Louis Friedlein to the Chancery Court to have Leon Blum testify in a deposition for a possible suit by Pierre Brouillett and John B. Bernard. The deposition and notice about the deposition to Brouillett and Bernard is included. Lewis Friedlein petitioned the Chancery Court to order a deposition be taken from Leon Blum regarding the erection of a pork house on lot No. 130 in Vincennes. Friendlein expected a law suit to be brought against him by Pierre Brouillett and John B. Bernard. Master of the Chancery, R. N. Carnar, ordered that a deposition be taken. A notice was sent to Brouilett and Bernard about the deposition by Samuel Judah, attorney. The deposition of Leon Blum was given June 26, 1845 and conducted by Samuel Judah. In the deposition, Leon Blum described the contract and the expectations for the structure. The partners of the company, B. Bernard and Company, that had the pork house were: Pierre Brouillett, Leon Blum and John B. Bernard. Leon Blum testified that the pork house was built according to the contract. |
