Pierre Brouillett vs Michel Brouillett Estate 1840

Description:	The file contains documents relating to the settling of the Michel Brouillett Estate by Pierre Brouillett. Included are depositions, account records and promissory notes. In a deposition before Justice Samuel Hill, Charles Brewster, swore that Pierre Brouillett assumed the payment of Mitchel Brouilletts account of $26.25 to Robert Smith on August 22, 1838. A magistrates fee of $.25 was paid by Pierre Brouillett. Attached to the first document is a receipt written to Pierre Brouillett by Val. Bradley, CBA, for Michel Brouillett for Borough Tax on Lots # 48 and # 49. The tax was $6.50 for the year 1819. A second attachment Estate of Mitchel Brouillett to Pierre Brouillett: August 22, 1838 Amount of Account against in favor of Robert Smith $26.75, 1825 One horse $38.00 for the total $64.75, Taxes in 1819 $6.50 Total $71.25. A third attachment is a deposition of Jacob Wolfe before Justice, A. A. Robertson, stating he bought a horse from Pierre Brouillett and paid Michel Brouillett $38.00 for the horse. Also included in the file is Promissory Note for $198.98 3/4 to Pierre Brouillet from Michel Brouillett. It was witnessed by Jonathan A. Dartering, September 4, 1826. In an another Promissory Note, written to William H. H. Scott for $25.00, on September 17, 1827, Pierre Brouillett signed with his mark. It was witnessed by J. C. Harrison. On the back of this note was interest added of $19.27 making total debt of $44.27. The final document, Estate of Michel Brouillett to Pierre Brouillett to Cash Advanced on December 24, 1824 $75.00 plus interest on same $73.88 Total: $148.88
