Aaron Harington vs Sarah Mieure and Benjamin Thomas, admins. of William Mieure, deceased 1840

Description: The file contains the accounts of tobacco sales by William Mieure for the account of Aaron Harington of Evansville. Harington filed suit to collect damages of one thousand dollars. The complaint prepared by Abner Ellis, attorney for Harington, stated that July 2, 1837 he delivered to Mieure, goods, wares, merchandise and tobacco valued at $500.00. He stated that the account was in arrears and although payment has been requested from Mierure and from the estate, he has not been paid and requested one thousand dollars in damages. The complaint was filed August 5, 1840 by W.R. McCord, Clerk. One account in the file shows sales of kegs of tobacco sold by Mieurer in August. It listed the account numbers, the cost of the keg of tobacco $20.85 to $17.12 1/2. The total amount sold was $453.35 1/2. A second account sheet was sales in February 1838, which was delivered to Harington by Mieurer. The amount listed was $194.34. A third sheet shows cash received and the commission Mieure should receive on the sales.
