Angelique Delisle vs Eugene Delisle, et.al.

Description: The file contains Angelique Delisles, the widow of Charles Delisle, petition for dower. It includesa description of the land owned by Charles Delisle, her petition for dower, the assigning of commissioners, and guardian ad. litem for minor children, and the dower given to Angelique Delisle. In the petition to Judge John H. Harrison, for her dower, the following land descriptions are given: tract of land situated in the Lower Prairie adjoining Vincennes, bounded on the N.E. by land formerly of Saml. Stone and on the S.E. by Cathrinette swamp and on the S. W. by land of Wm. Page and on the N.W. by land of Alexander Valle. (which was conveyed to the said deceased, by Wm. Mieure). All that tract of land situate in the Lower Prairie, it being the same which Amable Bouche and others conveyed in 1832. Lots in the town were also mentioned. The application gave notice in the Western Sun, to Eugene Delisle, August Delisle, Jane Mallet (wife of Louis Mallet) Mary Ann Delisle, Rose Ann Delisle, and Angelique Delisle, the children of Angelique and Charles Delisle. William McCord, guardian ad. litem, responded to the petition for the minor children by accepting the decision of the court, November 12, 1841. The appointed commissioners, Samuel Emison, Francis, Bayer and George Davis, wrote their decision on the lands to be given as her dower. Angelique Delisle was represented by attorney B.M. Thomas. The court clerk was William R. McCord.
