Description:	The file contains an account sheet for Charles Delisle with John B. Martin for clothing and credits of payments. Also attached is a letter to John Martin from J. A. Williams regarding the death of Williams son. The account Charles Delisle had with John Martin ran from 1837 to 1838. It included the following: May 4 1837: cloth frock coat $32.00; fancy vest $1.50; October 14: jeans pantaloons $5.50; November 26: Balance on Coat $11.00; February 9: pair pantaloons $5.00 Total Bill $55.00 Contra Credits: March 24 1838: Cash $5.00; August 7: Cash $5.00; August 11: Cash $2.00 Total Credits $12.00 Bill $55.00 minus Credits $12.00 = Balance Due $43.00 Credit of $15.50 = Balance Due $27.50 Attached to the account was a letter. Prairieton, August 18, 1843 Mr. J. B. Martin Dear Sir: Yours of the 15 th is at hand. I am sorry to say that your request cannot be complied with now nor never. About 18 months since my son was thrown from a horse and lay senseless 72 hours at which time he expired-- I am truly sorry that you will loose by his death. Yours by Respectfully J. A. Williams.
