Description: Elijah Stout comes before Martin Robinson, Justice of the Peace and swears he has published an advertisement for 3 weeks in the Western Sun on the dower rights petition of Margaret Theriac. The document was filed August 10, 1841 with a $1.50 fee. Margaret Theriac, wife of late James Theriac, petitions for her dower rights of the late James Theriac. The property listed is 65 acres of land part of S. E. quarter of Section No. 11 Town #2 N. of Range #1 W. in Knox County and lots #253 and #296 in the Borough of Vincennes. The petitioner Margaret Theriac, by Attorney Abner T. Ellis, comes to court and files proof of publication and upon a motion it is ordered that Louis L. Watson, John Marney and Zachariah Pulliam are to be appointed Commissioners to set off her dower rights. The document was filed August 13, 1841. The Commissioners take an oath to fulfill their appointments to the best of their ability. The Commissioners report is filed and they assign property to Margaret Theriac as her dower rights. The property she received as her dower rights is the S. W. part of lot #253 and 90 foot front and extended in back from 6th the same width in full depth of said lot having a frame dwelling. The document was signed August 13, 1841 by Zach Pulliam, Lewis Watson and J. Marney with their fees listed as $1 each and a $5 fee for Attorney A. T. Elllis.
