Knox County court record for State of Indiana vs Anderson Gordon, 1850

Description: On August 24, 1850, the Sheriff of Knox County is ordered to bring Andrew Gordon in to court on a charge of accessary to assault and battery with intent to murder. The warrant is filed by William R. McCord, Clerk and by Samuel Bayard, deputy clerk. Henry Anderson is brought to court on July 1, 1850 for assaulting Francis Hill. Anderson is accused of hitting Hill with a brick bat and also physically hit, kick and cause bodily harm upon the body of Francis Hill. The court also states that Anderson Gordon assisted Anderson with physically abusing Hill. Witnesses in the case were Francis Hill, Hester Hill, James Brunswick, Jonathan M. Clark was the prosecuting attorney. The jury finds the defendant not guilty, per Haywood Underwood, foreman.
