On Sept. 23, 1806 James Ford comes before Isaac White, Deputy Clerk of the Knox County Clerk of Common Pleas and brings a Negro man named Bob age 22. He is a slave belonging to James Ford. Ford purchased Bob from Hugh White and was brought here from the state of Kentucky. James Ford is to provide Isaac with proper lodging, clothing and washing provisions. At the end of his thirty years of service Bob is not to become a county charge. |
