Knox County slave register, James Johnson registers Will, 1807

Description: On Nov.18, 1806 John Grant comes before Isaac White, Deputy Clerk of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas with a Negro man named Will aged 36. Will has been brought to this territory from Kentucky. Will is to serve Isaac Grant and his assignees a term of twenty years. Grant is to provide Will with proper clothing, food and lodging. At the end of his service he is not to become a county charge
