On Sept. 23, 1806 James Ford comes before Isaac White, Deputy Clerk of the Knox County Clerk of Common Pleas and brings a Negro woman named Fanny age 20. She is a slave belonging to James Ford and was brought here from the state of Kentucky. Fanny’s previous owner was George Vann. James Ford is to provide Fanny with proper lodging, clothing and washing provisions. At the end of thirty years of service Fanny is not to become a county charge. |
