THE NORMAL ADVANCE47of the Epsilon Delta Chapter. The room withits mellow light, the Halloween decorations,suggestive of spooks and goblins and hob-goblins, and the various games, were certainly appreciated by all. The old time-honored refreshments consisted of nuts, apples, doughnuts and cider. The guests of the occasionwere the Misses Edna Taggart and Zola Clotz.The members of the chapter were the MissesMargaret Jones, Emma Georg, Eula McEwan,June Manor and Anna Cox.At the home of Miss Erma Georg the members of the chapter, Saturday evening, Nov.16, initiated into the chapter the followinggirls: Edna Taggart, Zola Close, Edna Belland Helen Crosser.KAPPA.The Kappa Sorority held its first initiationOct. 25, at the home of Lorretta Kelley. Theparlors were decorated with the colors and redcarnations were given as favors. Those initiatedwere: Misses Susan Miller, Katherine Walsh,Edna Glick, Beulah Botts and Delia Engle-mann. The old members were: MissesGeneva Smock, Margaret Ellis, MargueriteDuncan, Lorretta Kelley, Emma Dean Wright,Florence Hurt, Haziel Kiefner, Doyne Koonce,and Doris Drake.Tho Kappas were were entertained by SusanMiller at her home on Fifth street, Saturdayevening, Nov. 9. A very pleasant evening wasenjoyed. Those present w7ere: Misses GenevaSmock, Edna Glick, Susan Miller, KatherineWalsh and Emnia Dean Wright,LLAMARADA.Seven girls were initiated into the mysteriesof Llamaradaism Saturday, Nov. 9, at thehome of Margaret Hardie, 450 North Centerstreet. The first degree was given in the afternoon. At half-past six oclock a sumptuousspread was served. After the picnic supperthe second degree wyas administered. The afternoon and the evening w7ere thoroughly enjoyed by the older members at least. Thosereceived into the section were: Misses ElsieHayward, Ossia Brown, Helena Sutton, MarieCasey, Zell Bell, Amelia Peters and BlancheWolverton. The older members were: MissesEdna Peyton, Grace Stokes, Margaret Lahey,Gertrude McCombe, Hazel Woollen, May Cline,Margaret Hardie, Harriet Woollen, GoldieNance and Mary Day.The section is planning many such goodtimes for the near future.MU ZETA.At the opening of this term there were fourMu Zetas in school—Misses May Zinck, HopeTharpe, Gladys Rippetoe and Ollie Dix.On Saturday, Oct. 26, five new members weretaken into the section—Edith Provines, Ruth_Costlow, Clara Applegate, Ruby Curry andElsie Finley. The initiation took place at MissRippetoes home, in Hancock street, After thedegree was given and the pledge taken MissEdna Provines, a Mu Zeta of last year, presented the new members with their pins. Latera Dutch lunch was served in a spooky diningroom. Halloween festivities prevailed throughout the evening and all departed at a late hour,after having spent a most enjoyable time.MY 0 SOT IS.The Myosotis girls have enjoyed a number ofgood times during the past month. On theevening of Oct. 26 they were entertained at thecountry home of Miss Minnie Rollings. Theserving of refreshments formed the chief diversion of the evening the different coursesbeing offered in a unique fashion. At the closeof the evening a hayride was enjoyed.On the evening of Nov. 9, the Myosotis entertained a number of guests with a three-course chafing dish luncheon, at the home ofMiss Nelle Waller. The chafing-dishes werepresided over by the Misses Wade, Sale, Failing, Rollings and Neukom. After the luncheon a program of dances was carried out. The |
