Description: |
Letter is unsigned, but the author is believed to be Dumont; the letter is numbered 30 and appears on the list of letters from Dumont to Badollet. Dumont begins this letter saying he is forwarding Badollet a packet of letters passed on by Mr. Bients; the packet includes many letters for Badollet from friends and family. While he was putting letters of his own in the packet, Dumont says he happened to see a couple white lies in Mr. Rivard’s letter, for which he says Badollet must forgive him. He goes on to talk about money, Badollet’s extended family, Geneva’s council elections, their old friends, and the sadness that comes with being away from lifelong friends. Dumont closes the letter with his well wishes, as well as those of Badollet’s old neighbors and family. |
