Description: |
This is a personal letter from Dumont to Badollet. The correspondence begins with some gossip about a mutual friend of theirs—Mr. Gaillard—who never writes to Badollet; now Gaillard has left Geneva without visiting Dumont to say goodbye, something he had previously promised he would always do. Dumont mentions an 8-page inclusion, which is a separate letter dated 17th August, 1781. He goes on to update Badollet on the state of politics, which have begun to cause disputes in Bern and Zurich as well as Geneva. Lastly, he tells Badollet that all the neighbors send their love and wait eagerly for more news. |
