Elisabeth Catherine Gooley (or Cooley) Bryant was born in 1838 in Indiana and married Sylvester Bryant on June 5, 1864. Sylvester Bryant was a member of Company F of the 150th Indiana Infantry Regiment and he served from February 17, 1865 until August 5, 1865. In this letter Elisabeth expects to see Sylvester shortly and mentions several times that she expects to see him home in a few days. The second page of the letter is damaged so it is very hard to make out what she says and what is visible is hard to decipher. Elizabeth does note a post script at the end saying that she was including a flower from their garden in this letter. |
