Interview with Velma Dickerson

Description: Velma Dickerson was a housewife living in Clarksville, Indiana at the time of the 1937 Flood. For a short time the family sheltered at the George Roger Clark School. When her husband was called to work, in his role as a telephone repairman, she and her son were evacuated to her mothers home in Columbus, Bartholomew County, Indiana. The thumbnail shows the home next door to where Velma and her husband lived in 1937. The image is of 1015 Clark Avenue and the Dickersons lived at 1016 Clark.
