Flooding of 1908

Description: Spring flooding was not uncommon in Elkhart. This postcard shows one of the local rivers with its water levels up. Prior to 1910, there were four flood seasons that stood out in the minds of residents for their severity, and the depth of the flood waters. These floods occurred in 1856, the February of 1887 and 1892, and March 1908. It is possible that this picture was taken during the flooding of 1908.
