This postcard shows the Franklin Street bridge looking east across the Elkhart River from East Street. It is possible this photograph was taken during the flooding that occurred March 7-13, 1908. The building pictured in the background is the Troy Steam Laundry located at 200 E. Franklin Street. Flood waters had nearly engulfed the first floor of the building and had risen almost to the level of the bridge itself. |
