This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Person having an asthma attack at 2926 N. Adams, engine 4 sent to respond. 2) Carcher, from Meridian to Union, was closed, caller wants to know if it still is. Dispatcher makes a call to follow up. 3) Discussion about directions to a street, Lockridge or Loftridge, caller not sure where the street is or what the correct street name is. Possible Lickridge Lane. 4) Caller asks for clarification on address for 4145 N. Gale, firefighters couldnt find address. Several responders will continue trying, baby is choking at the address. 5) Police button on call box not working, dispatcher transfer callers to police. 6) Caller asks to speak to fire prevention, calling from Manger Mortarium. The call is mostly unintelligible, fire prevention staff offers to send personnel to the callers location. 7) Fire reported at 1400 Madison. 8) Caller reports 3 feet of water in the viaduct at 3400 block of E New York. 9) Caller updates dispatcher on street name, Bunker Hill, in George Washington Apartments.
