Dispatch call, August 14, 1969, between 8:24 AM and 9:17 AM

Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) East side of Woodruff place from Michigan to 10th closed to traffic from 9 AM to 4 PM, east side only. 2) Captain Hurd called to speak to the chief. 3) Ed Gallagher called to say their station would be working on their hose. 4) Peerless Pump called to say their sprinkler system was back in service. 5) Dispatcher called car 10 to inform them their car was ready at the shop. 6) Ambulance sent to assist an unconscious woman at 2016 Wilcox Street. 7) Ambulance sent to 2038 Columbia Avenue. 8) Police had a car on English Ave waiting on an arson investigator. Arson investigator Floyd originally requested could not respond, another vehicle responded to collect information for arson investigator Floyd. 9) Request for Dictaphone service, Dictaphones not functioning correctly. 10) Last 4 minutes of recording inaudible.
