Description:	This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Cable man reporting repairs coming in on box 231; Male caller reporting a woman at 1113 Pleasant needs oxygen, dispatched squad 17 at 8:50am, ambulance requested at 8:56am; Banter between caller Carl and dispatcher, ?Jim, ?Billy; Caller identified as Meredith with American Bakery’s at 1331 E. Washington St. reporting their sprinkler system were going to be down for an hour; Telephone repairman reports turning off box 171 to move it; A lot of calls between stations; Female caller reporting a man having a stroke at 917 E. Iowa; Vermillion called reporting that Armstrong requesting to be notified in car 15 if there would be any disturbances because he was driving a large gas truck and wanted to get out of there if needed, includes banter; Telephone man calling requesting the number (276); Female caller reporting a house fire at 859 Indiana Ave. dispatched at 8:59am; Female caller requesting help with a cat, dispatch directed caller to the Humane Society; ?Larry Watkins caller; 1702 Lexington male caller reporting a man having a heart attack, Engine 27 dispatched; 839 ?Fayette St.; Female caller reporting car fire in front of Kroger at the Lafayette Square Shopping Center, Engine 33 dispatched at 10:43am; Edward from the shop calling to get information about a box; Male caller asking for permission to burn a shed at the Westview Christian Church, dispatch told caller they could not give permission and suggested having it hauled away, no open trash fires; Dispatcher answered as Bill, call from ?Murray; Dictabelt
