This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 1) Ron Steele called from Peerless Pump company at 21st Street and Northwestern Avenue to report that their sprinkler system was back in service. 2) Engine 31 called to inform dispatch they would be out of service to test hoses. 3) Police department requested arson investigator meet police department car Charles 4 at 4834 English Avenue for possible arson investigation. 4) Ambulance sent to 2038 Columbia to assist a pregnant woman having seizures while in labor. 5) Discussion with arson investigator Floyd (?), who was too far away to respond to request from police for assistance at 4834 English Avenue. 6) Second call about pregnant woman having seizures at 2038 Columbia. 7) Chief engineer at General Hospital pulling a fire alarm for a test at 9:30. Called back to advise all clear. 8) Joe Quigley called about location of Burton Terrace. 9) Mattress fire reported in apartment at 315 E. Troy, Apartment D19. 10) Ambulance sent to assist a man who had a heart attack in a red vehicle at the corner of Illinois and South streets. 11) Arson investigator requested again at 4834 English Ave, car 10 (Floyd) asked to respond. Floyd responded that he was still at Pinehurst apartments shooting pictures and could not immediately respond. 12) Ambulance sent to assist a female employee of Galyans having stroke at 1102 W 16th.
