Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Task Force 11 dispatched on a First Aid run for a silent alarm on Raymond and East St.at 12:19am; Bob Sherman calling asking for the best way to get to the Colosseum from Near Garfield Park at Madison and Southern, directed to come north towards Fountain Square and Keystone, told to avoid going to College; Male caller reporting a man slumped over(reported as inebriated) the steering wheel of a running truck west of Warman on Washington, dispatched Task Force 14, Police car requested, Vespo is in charge?, Boardman called in, Cooper was the dispatcher; Robert Eeds? on the A Shift was in at for Task Force 3 reporting in on the Code 4; Caller requesting to be transferred to the Training School where the 5s and 23s were; Male caller, identified as Les Goody? request for Ed Miller, reporting that Ed Miller’s wife stopped in for him; Female caller reporting a fire at 1808 N. College at the M&J restaurant; Male caller reporting a heart attack at 11 N. Oriental, from department 1, ambulance on the way; Female, the wife of one of the firemen, asking if the 3s were on a run; Fire at Dorman and Michigan, truck on fire at the B&G Machinery inside the building or the grounds, Task Force 9 dispatched at 1:11am; Female caller, and three male callers reporting a store fire at the corner of Clifton and 27th, 1105 W. Clifton, police on the scene, Task Force 2 dispatched, 1:20am; Sheldon Pal? Requesting keys, was sent to 14s, windows are broken out after the report of break-ins at the station, the station second floor was locked, the 14s were being stationed in the Cattle Barn at the fairgrounds while the code 4 was in effect in their area; Task Force Apparatus Location List, request for location of the Chemical Wagon, reported with the 13s; Dispatch identifies as Fletcher?; Gaulden? On the A shift, calling looking for the location of the 12s, told to go to Station 27, chatter about having the same problems as the night before on Indiana Ave.;
