Description: This is a digitized recording of a dictabelt, which the Indianapolis Fire Department used to record dispatch calls during the 1960s and 1970s. Following are the calls on this dictabelt: 313 W. Wisconsin girl with a cut at 5:55pm.; Female caller reporting that a fireman from Station 29 lost his coat on a run at 1632 E. Tabor.; Female caller, identified as Mrs. Gray, reporting a swarm of bees in her window at 1246 Edgecombe? Dispatcher gave Mrs. Gray several numbers to call about finding someone to deal with the problem.; Call to unknown station, to Caplinger? About how the station had been burglarized several times. Dispatcher suggested rigging a box of bees in a model A coil up at the pole to deter burglars. Speculation that it was a bunch of kids. Caplinger will mention to Dillinger?; Campbell calling again to know if there were any teletypes on the run that they just had.; Report at 14th and College, from a custodian of someone raising hell on 655 E. 13th. Call transferred to the police; Stafner? At the 20s asking if they had an unlisted number on the wire.; Bill Earle, calling to say if they heard from Maddox or Leo? King please have them call him at his home. No rush. Charlie England was identified as the dispatcher. Smith at the 6s answered Charlie’s call, and was given to message to have Maddox call Bill.; Male caller reporting a drunk man down at the corner of Ohio and Illinois. Police car dispatched.; Hurley? At the 1s reporting a service truck on station, and didn’t know if Lou? Had reported it.; Female caller reporting an injured woman at 2187 N. Olney. Ambulance dispatched at 6:42pm.; Dispatch requested a bad? PI? at 38th between Central and Washington Blvd.; Male caller requesting fire and rescue at 38th and New Jersey for an accident.; Female caller reporting a trash fire in a cart at the first ally across Parker Ave.? near Roosevelt.;
