Following are the calls on this dictabelt: Female caller reporting a fire in Wayne Township at 7737 West Washington.; ? wanting to know if they need to report over the air that the truck was marked as a reserve.; Male caller reporting an automobile fire at the corner of Tibbs and Minnesota.; 321 injured four year old female.; Charlie Bunk? From Bryant, a gas company on the scene of a fire at 21st and Montcalm, gas main on fire. Engine 23 and District 1 dispatched at 3:10pm, Chemical 13 dispatched at 3:11pm; Charlie England talking to Chet? about the precious evening. Charlie said that Perkins was up at Douglas and Indiana at the box, while the market was burning with no apparatus there, and that Perkins was pleading with Cooper and Shannon to make up an all colored company to go in there. England was asking the other fireman on the line if he thought that would have alleviated the problem. Chet? Replied that he didn’t think so, they were just all riled up, it was just a bunch of kids, and that he didn’t think it would have mattered what was sent in there. England mentioned that his daughter goes to Tech, and the day before yesterday they were going around with their arms crossed and fists clenched. Chet? Replied that he had heard that this was a national deal, that it broke out all over the country.; Sergeant from the police department calling requesting the number to the 29s looking for Forsee?. Forsee was at the 2s; Male caller reporting a man trapped in a car at Linwood and New York. Engine 12 District 6 dispatched at 3:40pm. Called back and told to disregard, no injuries at 3:44pm, report of property damage only; Female caller requesting assistance with a little girl having locked herself inside a bedroom on the second floor with no windows and unable to get the door unlocked at 104 W. Hampton Dr. Craig; Charlie England call to Cap. Callahan? England states that he bought a radio in to record anything that may happen that evening in the event of another Code 4. England reported that a call from a guy that stated he was a black ??? and that they were going to finish the job tonight. England talking about how the radio works, that it can record for 6 hours, etc. There is a lot of static while they are discussing recording the evening. Dictabelt |
