Description: |
The file contains the documents related to the suit Paul Tyselo brought against Isaac Miner for failure to pay a debt of $90. The debt was to be paid 90 days after December 28, 1807. The promissory note of that date was signed by William Miner and Isaac Miner and others. During the July Term of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas, General Washington Johnston filed a complaint against Isaac Miner for $150. A summons for Isaac Miner was witnessed and signed by court clerk Robert Buntin on June 29, 1808. On the verso of the summons Robert Buntin notes that the sheriff will take bail for $90. The summons was executed by deputy sheriff Samuel Hayes at a cost of $1.69. The defendant posted an appearance bond for $180 on July 16, 1808. The bond was executed and delivered to John McCandless and signed by Isaac and William Miner. After issuing special bail the case was continued from the July to the November 1808 Term. The Book for the Court of Common Pleas 1807-1810, indicates that the defendant did not appear and the court awarded Tyselo $90 plus interest, costs, and charges. Two court cost bills total $12.77 1/2 cents. |
