William Patterson accounts with William Herberd 1845

Description: The file contains the account William Patterson had with William Herberd Dry Goods Store and two promissory notes William Patterson wrote to Herberd. The account Patterson had with Herberd goes from January 1844 to January1845. Some of the items purchased included the following: nails $.91, 3 1/2 lbs. Rio Coffee $.50, saw file $.12 /12, cotton handkerchief $.19, plaid gown $1.69, 3 1/2 lbs. Rio Coffee per James Reel $.50, 8 lbs. Rio Coffee per Lewis Reel $1.00, 3/4 gal whiskey $37. 1/2, 1 lb. tobacco $.12 1/2, 1 set cups and saucers $2.03, 3 yds calico .$38, 1 fine comb 4.12, 1 set cups $.37, 1 sett [set] spoons $.37, 1 Sett [set] plates $.75. Total account $25.51. July 2, 1842, William Patterson signed his mark on a promissory note to William Heberd for $47.42 for value received. It was witnessed by Lewis Badallet. On the back was noted Received $21.00 February 9, 1843. A second promissory note for $9.07 by Patterson to Heberd was written June 20, 1843. On the back was written Received within one dollar twelve cents January 2, 1844.
