Robert Johnson filed a Bill of Complaint in a Bill of Trespass against Luke Decker, the administrator of the Daniel Sullivan estate. On November 7, 1785, Daniel Sullivan signed a promissory note to Robert Johnson for twenty-two pounds and five sixteenth of a pound of beaver pelts. (Beaver pelts were one dollar per pound). Trial set for the May Term 1798. Jurors: Daniel Smith, Claduis Coupin, Michael Joseph, Lambet Barrios, Jean Baptist Bonham, Alexander Vallie, Gabriel Munot, Lurient Bazadone, John Johnson, Jacques Cardinal, Francois Legnon and John Baptist Barrios. Lawyer for Luke Decker, Christopher Wyant, lawyer for Robert Johnson, General William Johnston. We the jury find for the Plaintiff twenty dollars with lawful interest from the first day of March 1786. Writ of Execution by Pierre Gamelin May 5, 1798. |
