William Johnson filed Writ of capias in a plea of Trespass and vie et armis against Thomas Pasteur, Captain. For having him publicly tied to a tree at Fort Knox and having him whipped with a cat-of-nine tail. Witness Pierre Gamelin, written by Robert Buntin. The jury: Albertus Prince, David Willkins, Adam Peles, Fredrick James Black, Andrew Purcell, James Jones, John Westfall, William Crutcher, Edmond Ritterhouse, Abraham Barekman, and John Robins found for the plaintiff for sixty dollars. This was followed by a Writ of Vilue, a Writ of Supersedeas, signed by John Cleve Symmes, on October 11, 1798. A Writ of Execution served by Christopher Wyant, Sheriff endorsed no property to be found in bailiwick. |
