Photograph of the float leading this section of the parade which is a float by Blackfoot Coal Company, Local 352. The sign on the float says Local 352 in favor of a 6 hr. day to employ the unemployed of our country. There is another float by Blackfoot Coal Company Local 352 with a sign on it 100% and still under Terre Haute agreement. There is a third float by the Company with a sign stating they are producers of all grades of coal with a truck load of coal with the sign. Behind the floats is a band marching and wearing white pants and shirts. Behind the band is a company of marching miners. There are people lining both sides of the street which is decorated with flags. The following buildings can be seen in the photograph: J. C. Penny, Purdys Confectionery, McCulloughs Cafe, Massey Shoe Store, Economy Variety, and Peoples American National Bank. |
