This is an oral history recorded by John Dowd on October 10, 2010 at the Parke County Public Library. Mr. Dowd served Parke County as the deputy prosecutor under prosecutor Clelland Hanner during the case known as the Hollandsburg murders. He explains the events that took place in this horrible crime, its effect on the communities and the events leading up to the capture and conviction of those who committed the crime. Respectfully I will list the names of the victims in this case: Betty Jane Spencer - survivor, deceased were Gregory Brooks, Ralph Spencer, Raymond Spencer and Reeve Spencer. The names mentioned who participated in solving the case were Dick Finney, Gary Cooper and Clelland Hanner. Those convicted for this crime were Roger Drollinger, Daniel Stonebreaker, Michael Wright and David Smith. |
