Description: |
Nicholas Smith did on the 3rd day of January 1838 before Martin Robinson, Esq. J.P. recover judgement against William Sims for the sum of eighty five dollars debt plus two dollars and fort cents in damages making the total owed eighty seven and forty cents. The court asks that William Sims appear before them on the first Monday of March next to show why debt has not been paid. This document was executed on February 12, 1838 and served by Zack Pulliam, Knox County Deputy on order of A. D. Scott, and W.R. McCord D.C. The defendant, William Sims, does not appear before court and makes default on debt. Constable Elijah Thorn on January 4, 1838, is ordered to take into his possession any chattels and goods that Sims may have to pay the debt. The constable reports back on January 30, 1838 to E. Thorn, C.K. C. that there is no property found to be subject to execution. |
