State of Indiana, Knox County, vs Harry Springs for petit larceny, 1838

Description: The grand jurors empaneled and sworn to enquire for the State of Indiana and for the County of Knox , on the 15th day of July 1838, say that eight bundles of oats of the value of twelve and one half cents belonging to John Alexander were feloniously stolen by one Harry Springs, laborer. The warrant was signed by Henry Secrets, Prosecuting attorney for Knox County. An indictment is filed on Monday the first term of March next on a bill of indictment for petit larceny for Harry Springs in the amount of fifty dollars. The writ was witnessed and issued by W. R. McCord, Clerk on November 23, 1838. Zachary Pulliam, Sheriff, executed the indictment on March 9k, 1839 for a cost of $1.50.
