Knox County slave register, James Scott registers Ruben, 1807

Description: On March 3, 1807 James Scott comes before Robert Buntin, Clerk of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas with a Negro boy named Ruben age 16. He was brought to this territory from Kentucky. He is to serve James Scott a term of fifty years. James Scott is to provide Ruben with sufficient provisions, clothing, lodging and washing according to his station and degree and she is not to become a cost to the county.
