On Feb. 10, 1807 Benjamin D. Price comes before Robert Buntin, Clerk of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas Indiana Territory with a Negro woman named Milly, age 20. Milly was brought to this territory from the state of Kentucky and she is to serve Benjamin D. Price and his assignees for a term of forty years. Benjamin is to provide Milly with sufficient clothing, provisions, lodging and washing according to her station and degree. At the end of her service Milly is not to become a cost to the county. |
