On March 5, 1807 James Rob Sr. comes before Robert Buntin, Clerk of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas with a Negro woman named Ally. She was brought to this territory from Kentucky and she is to serve James Rob Sr.and his assignees a term of forty years. James Rob Sr. is to provide Ally with sufficient provisions, clothing, lodging and washing according to her station and degree and she is not to become a cost to the county. |
