Young man, you can be an idealman.SOCIETYALPHA.On the evening of November 21, the Alphasmet at the home of Hazel Armstrong in NorthCenter Street. After the regular business wasdisposed of, the fun began. Each girl wasgiven an opportunity to show her skill ina strenuous peanut contest. This was followedby various games. Mrs. Cornelia Faris andFrances Sammis, gave an informal musicale.Late in the evening refreshments were served.Halsie Fair, Blanche Elliott, Marian Sammis and Anne Price spent the Thanksgivingvacation at their homes.Miss Alta Jacques was the guest of her sister, Sue Jacques, during the vacation.Miss Pearl Bedford of Indianapolis spentThanksgiving here with Alpha sisters.A Backwards Party was given Saturdayevening, December 5. The hostesses were SueJacques, Carabelle Greiner, Mary Morris andKatherine McBride. Ridiculous stunts werethe features of the entertainment.AT HLET A.A dance was given November 20 at St.Marys. Music was furnished by Miss Thomas.Miss Hamilton and Prof. Clippinger chaperoned the crowd.The guests were, Messrs. J. T. Haley, Howard Kord, Homer Phillips, Leroy James, Starr,Ralph Henderson, Arthur Mohan, Harry Mohan, Ralph Mandeville, Ben Knisely, Ferdinand Myers, Ezra Porter, Meyer and Kleink.A slumber party was given on Friday night,November 27, at the room of Misses Jeanneand Frances Guffigan in North Fifth Street.With the ,.aid of chafing dishes a deliciouslunch was served by the hostesses. Mrs. M. F.Guffigan chaperoned the girls.Miss Estelle Doerschuk will entertain Dec.12 at her home in South Seventh Street, whenSororiety pennants will be made.BETA.At the opening of this term there were buttwo Betas in school, Margaret Yunker and MissRittman. Since, the Misses Nellie Wolfe, LuluHufty, Mabel Huston, Effie McCoun, RosaChristy and Ivah Gish have been added to theSection, and on Saturday evening, Nov. 21,three new members were taken into the Section, Bertha Wilson, Hannah Wolfe and OraHolly. The initiation took place at 629 N. 6thStreet, with the Misses Hufty, Huston andGish as hostesses. After the initiation hotlunch was served.The Beta girls are making arrangements forseveral affairs in the near future. |
