Excellentspirit and interest is shown by the members ofthe Section, and although not great in numbers, the Section promises to stand as one of theleading sororities of the League.PI ZETA.On the evening of Oct. 30, the old membersof the Pi Zetas, Misses Manion and Helt gavean initiation party to the ten new7 members.The new members were Misses Mary Grace,Fern Densford, Frances Thorp, Irene Carr,Kathrine Black, Glenn Gobin, Viola Field,Gertrude Miller, Dercie Richards, Eva Fieldand Nell Broadhurst. After the unique initiation refreshments were served and plans madefor a number of social affairs to be given afterThanksgiving.ZETA ZETA.Although nothing has been heard of the ZetaZeta Section so far this term, it is not dead, butvery much alive. It started this term witheight of the old members. The first meetingwas held at the home of Miss Voyle Davis,October 23, where three new members, theMisses Ora Raab, Mabel Martin and KelsieAllen were duly initiated into the mysteriesand wonderful secrets of Zetacism. Thosepresent were the Misses Thersa Wehr, GeorgiaBrewster, Hattie Stirwalt, Voyle Davis, MaryRogers, Juanita McClain, Matilda Tormohlen,Anna Piepenbrink, Kelsie Allen, Mabel Martin,and Ora Raab.Miss Georgia Brewster entertained the Section and their friends at her home October 29,with a Halloween party. The house wasdaintily decorated wTith autumn leaves, vines,and Japanese lanterns. A yes and no contest wras engaged in, in which Miss BlancheHanley won the first prize and Mr. CliffordHughes the booby prize. Several other sportsappropriate to the occasion were indulged inafter which typical Halloween refreshmentswere served. Those who enjoyed the jolly timewere the Misses Kate and Laura Woody, ElsieKittle, Stella Dyer, Voyle Davis, BlancheHanley, Hala McFarland, Maj7 Goodin, MaryRogers, Hattie Stirwalt, Thersa Wehr, MabelBenson, Olive Sence, Anna Piepenbrink, Matilda Tormohlen, Messrs. Guy Woody, Bel fordCraner, Wallace Phillips, Vern Dyer, ErnestStirwalt, Rupert Lukens, Ray Jared, CliffordHughes, R. Z. Taylor, Adam Bowles, Mr. andMrs. Kittle and Mrs. Benson.CICERONIAN.When we see the growing interest manifestedin debating at the present time, we begin torealize that some of the hopes and aspirationsof the early part of the year are yet to be realized. The Society is trying to help Prof.Lardner and other energetic members of theFaculty place debating among the recognizedachievements of the school. The spirit existing between the various literary societies of theschool in this movement for their mutual benefit and for that of the school is to be commended. However, there is at all times thathealthy and inspiring rivalry which is so essential to such work.Two new members, the Messrs. Bruner andBrumfiel, have been added to strengthen thework of the society.DAEDALIAN.The Daedalian Literary Society has startedinto the new year with bright prospects. Fourmembers of last year are in school and severalnew members have been taken in. The literaryprograms, which consist largely of debates, discussions of current events, papers, etc., havebeen carried out with great enthusiasm.FORUM.The Forum Literary and Debating Societyhas defined its membership as consisting of two |
