Cars are parked outside of Butler Fieldhouse (later renamed Hinkle Fieldhouse). Gate numbers are located on the windows above the doors. Although the structure was not yet complete, the first basketball game in the Fieldhouse was held on March 7, 1928, when the Bulldogs defeated Notre Dame 21-13, in overtime. According to the souvenir program created for that game, the Fieldhouse, the building is 330 feet long by 210 feet wide and 95 feet high, with seating for 15,000 spectators. |
