Hisrevolutionary discoveries will bring much insight into anextremely complex system. However, some peoplebelieve that other candidates that deserved the awardmore were overlooked. Nevertheless, many othersbelieve that Ohsumis work is far-reaching and that he iswell deserving of this recognition.I think it will stem intoresearch and its not going tobe about vaccines or deliveringnew cells, but I think it willdefinitely stem into a lot of newresearch.SENIOR ABBIFEINERPARDON MY FRENCHIn October 2016, South students hosted students from the Lycee de NotreDame in France for two weeks, planning field trips and activities to show themthe essence of Bloomington. The rules are really different,but I really like to be here, and I really like having theability to meet other people and exchange with themabout their customsQ: What was your favorite experience?A: The [Indiana University] football game was a verygood experience because we dont have this inFrance. I also liked Chicago because it all is so huge,the skyscrapers, the city. Its very amazing.Q: What are some particular differences that youhave found?A: In school, the classes because teachers finish thelessons so early, and the liberty in school, like withyour phone. The lunch time, because we have a long,long time for lunch, but we also do a lot ofhomework during this time, which is why we haveless work to do at home and leave school later.Senior Ivy KehoeBloomington, Indiana, United States of AmericaQ: Describe your experience with Alyssia:A: Alyssia has been amazing to have as an exchangestudent. We emailed frequently before she arrived,but I had no idea we would have so much incommon. Everyday she was here, I learned anotherthing that brought us closer. It was an amazingexperience.Q: What was your favorite experience?A: My favortie experience was taking her to my[Indiana University] math class and seeing herabsolute joy after we finished. She and I both reallylove math, so it was a great to share something likethat together.Q: What are some particular differences that youhave found?A: Although we had a lot in common, our twosocieties have a lot of differences.
