Heparked his bike, and greetedjunior Elise Eades, who wasdismounting her CannondaleSynapse 7000.Junior Christopher Moorejoined the group, followed shortlyby senior Nicole Scott, andfreshmen Haley Semian andSimone Allen.The group of bikers grew toabout 20 kids, mostlyBloomington South students andsome Bloomington Northstudents. They were all trainingfor the 2010 deCycles Bike Trip,which took place over a period ofthree weeks on the west coast ofthe United States, Manywondered why these studentswent through the painful training,the blistering summer heat, andthe intensive mindset that comesalong with the trip.We call it deCyclesamnesia, said Eades. Yes thereis a lot of pain, but we forget aboutthe pain because we are soaddicted to biking, The fun wehave on the trip makes us want tocome back year after year.Junior Erin Boyle was nostranger to deCycles amnesia,The 2010 trip was her fourth yearbiking with deCycles, and thewest coast trip marked her firstyear as assistant group leader,My job is to make sureeveryone stays safe on the trip. Illbe there to help the kids. Boylemade sure that everyone stayedon track, literally. This is myfourth year doing deCycles, so Ihave a lot of experience.The first year, I cried everyday, said Boyle.
